Mote Archive, founded by six persons, displays results of our daily observation, appraisal and study on shapes and patterns of ordinary things. By archiving these “insignificant” objects, their appearances as well as feelings and memories that they evoked could be systematically recorded while some related private stories could also be revealed.
My artworks in the past two years are mostly related to history, as I realize that many conflicts happening now are merely a continuation of the past. I have recently started making videos, which create moving images with drawing, paper-cutting and artificial lighting. Besides, I have been writing articles and working on magazines with regard to art and politics. Some can be viewed in my blog: kelvincheung113.wordpress.com
My inspiration stems from the observation of the daily life’s exquisite sensory experience. Through a fragmented style and a flexible usage in media, I hope my creation can remind the important parts of mankind and create a bridge for audience to reach their inner selves. Besides creation, I enjoy sharing my taste of art through managing an online art blog, The Polite Club (fb.com/pages/The-Polite-Club/137846272965887).
