Mandy Cheung Fuk-ngai was born in Hong Kong in 1990. Most of her works are two-dimensional such as painting, drawing, photography and video work. However, she in fact doesn’t care which media she uses but what she wants to say. She aims to communicate, because she believes visual language is a primal method of communication, its uniqueness can express more than verbal language does. It conveys thoughts and imaginations beyond the figurative. It breaks the indoctrinated regulation in our lives. Her works are created under the generalization of daily observation. By seeking the initial forms and internal relations of things, she hopes that viewers and her can re-think and-re-examine the surrounding situation disregarded, thus being enlightened.
