Undergraduate Exhibition 2017
Cheng Ming Building and Ch’ien Mu Library, New Asia College, CUHK
Undergraduate Exhibition includes: “Selected Work Show” and “Curated Show”. The former showcases exceptional works of Chinese and Western medium selected by a team of professional judges; the latter encompasses ten proposals resulted from a series of interviews and seminars. These proposals demonstrate an essential quality of self-initiation among students in determining the selection criteria, themes and forms of art-making in exhibitions.
For instance, the exhibition “Being in the World” aims at investigating of site-specificity through different aspects such as art-making space, exhibition site and the mobility of an artwork; through a series of sound and noise-related artworks, “White Noise” tries to guide the audience into the world of correlation of art and sound; the printmaking exhibition named “I Love Tai Fu 2017” concerns about the position and function of printmaking in the contemporary art world; and “Isn’t it CONTEMP?!” concerns about the potential possibilities of ink painting.
